Overview: A newly launched nail technician needed a logo before her first vending event, which was just one week away. As a first time business owner, she needed a mark that felt polished and professional, but flexible enough to grow with her business.
The Concept: The logo needed to clearly communicate the nail and beauty industry, reflect her personality and signature color, and work across a range of applications including vendor banners, t-shirts, product packaging and a future website.
The Design Decisions: I started with pencil sketches before moving into Adobe Illustrator to refine and digitize. Clarity and brand recognition were the priorities, so I focused on finding a visual cue that signaled "nails" immediately without competing with the typography. After developing four distinct concepts the winning direction emerged: a nail polish drip subtly integrated into the letter "I" of her business name. Purple, her favorite color, anchored the palette and gave the identity a personality that felt genuinely hers.
The Result: The client received four thoughtfully developed options within the one week turnaround, keeping her involved in the process without sacrificing creative direction. The final mark is a logo that works seamlessly across every touchpoint and positions her business as intentional and ready to grow.
